Vintage craft and classic style, the essence of true hand made music after all the flashy effects have worn off

A Break in the Routine out now!

A  Break in the Routine represents the stripped back minimalist side of the Post Social Experiment. The EP of six songs was recorded at Abbey Road Studios by Steve Robinson while he was travelling through the UK.

Intimate and reflective, it is a break from the full band routine and features Steve performing piano, acoustic guitar, trumpet, harmonica and vocals.

Crap! Really? Well I tell ya, this better be good.

Storyteller, poet, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, eclectic musical adventurer, Steve Robinson is your guide through the chaos. Don’t worry, he’s been there, he’s done it, lived it and has the scars to prove it, so you’re in capable hands.

True handmade music that is as complex as it is minimalist, lush as it is raw, organic as richly composted soil, and as real as you can get.

Musicians that work with Steve in Post Social are Tim Ritchie on bass, Rob Laurie on drums, ukulele and vocals, and many guests.

You’ll find influences as varied as Fats Waller, Louie Armstrong, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, the Cruel Sea, Nick Cave, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Vince Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Zap Mama, Juju Orchestra, Monsieur Camembert, Buena Vista Social Club, Bill Withers, Lonnie Johnson, Django Reinhardt, film noir, underground black and white, B grade and Blacksploitation movies.
